i got a 99 trans am and i put a 6.0 short block from a 04 hummer and 243 heads from a vette and i have alot a valve train noise after the car is driven about 10 miles. is the pushrod length dif. lengths for the iron block and alum. blocks

You should check your pushrod length to see what you have.. could go either way, too short or too long....other question, what's your oil pressure like?

It they are ls6 243 heads you will need different length pushrods

the oil pressure is at 50 pounds hot. i had the heads on the ls1 first with no problems but when i put the heads on the 6 liter it started doing it. i was listening to last night and it sounds like one of the lifters or something is making the noise not all of them nut its got new anti pump up lifters and good valve springs and a mild cam, not rear sure. i hope its not the lifters dont want to pull the heads off

Id double check your push rod length....the deck height might be slightly different between the two blocks

i have the push rods from the 6 liter cleaned up i think i am going to see the dif. between the two and try them
