Default honda journal?

Can you take a stock crank down to take a 1.850 journal rod? If not, could you do it with a forged crank?

Not sure, but why would you want to take off that much if you don't mind me asking?

Or are you asking about a Honda crank too?

I don't see why not, but you may not want to get too crazy with it as far as power and RPM are concerned. You lose a lot of overlap and the material isn't as strong to begin with.

I talking about a ls1 crank. I had someone offer me some used nascar rods that have honda journal. They're dirt cheap and I was just wondering if I could build a dirty cheap buildup. This is just mainly out of curiousity.

KCS: What do you qualify as high power and rpm. 1200 hp and 10,000 rpm?

Could you bore the rods to except the ls crank journals, or take alittle of both the rods and the crank maybe? I'm not sure how much "meat" you have around the large end of the rod to play with

Yea, if it even it could be done safely, those rods might not seem so cheap after the machine shop and balance bot done with you.
