Agreed.

I've been lurking these forums for quite awhile, reading all the H/C/I swap treads I can. The Torquer series cams seem to be really popular around here. I've pretty much decided on going with the V3 package myself, but I'm still saving my money up so there is still plenty of time to change my mind.

OP- What are your future plans for the car (mods?)

V3 is LSK/XER
V2 is XER/XER

V3 is usually on 111 LSA
V2 normally on 112 LSA

That translates into V3 having higher overlap (+10.5*) and TV2 (+9*), so right there alone they are not being tested equally.
That is like increasing compression = more power.

So put in a TV2 with 111 LSA and same ICL as TV3 and you'll see that there is very little difference between the 2.

Also if you compare and see lift flow on a stock head at .650 lift, you'll notice that it actually looses flow compared to .600 lift. Which means that throwing .643 lift at it is like hitting a pebble on a wall. (It is physics)

I wish you guys would picture what I'm trying to say.

Eventually in due time I would like to get the whole top end (good set of heads/intake) not really into the nitrous, but I guess I would like to give it a try just for kicks.

Would you guys recommend adding more power, or move on to suspension/drivetrain mods?

Love my V2, glad the guys at tsp in conjunction with my tuner decided to give me the Torquer 2 vs the ms3 that I ordered. Tuner didn't want to put the ms3 cam in my 5.3 because it can be a tuning nightmare. I did keep the PRC dual springs and it works fine. Car made 367/363 in a 5.3 w/full bolt ons

He already ordered the V2. That being said, you'll love it. I run the old patriot gold duals and a 7.4 pushrod. As mentioned by a previous poster, I would change your valve seals as well. I say this because mine leaked.

Good point about the stock heads. All I would say is most people don't know to ask about different LSA's, they just call and ask which cam makes more power. Both being off the shelf grinds they are going to say the V3.

I have a TV2 and I would say it's OK for daily driving (gears may help). I understand the TV3's make more power in the low... mid..... and upper rpm's but under light throttle aren't as smooth and require more tuning.

Side question... I have the PRC dual spring kit on my torquer 2 cam, have about 30,000 miles and would like to replace them. Can I just get replacement springs from PRC and use the same titanium retainers and seals?

Subscribed. Thoses are the same two I am trying to decided between. I have long tubes, lid, flowmaster merge, chrs1313 ram air On the car now and ls6 manifold in my room waiting to go on. I will eventually go with some 243 later down the road. So I amtrying to decide witch will be better for me.

What size stall? Mdeanlittle? Mine made 367/363 with 3800, Lts, FTP lid. Think it has a little more in her if I get the SLP MAF tuned in, cars running pretty rich. Been trying to get it on the track but it keeps raining

yah only reason I asked is cus my tuner thinks I have a 5.3 in the car from when I bought it. It's definitely a 5.3 block, jsut havent pulled the heads to measure bore so I really don't know. Car makes more power than a 5.3 should make with my mods but you never can tell with dyno numbers. I'm happy though with the numbers the V2 pulled, just wish I could have gone with the MS3, tuner didnt want to throw that size cam in if it was in fact a 5.3 engine.

The converter is hidden horsepower. It will show a loss on the dyno with big converter, but will show major gains at the track. The V2 is a great street cam.
