Comp vs Crane Lifters
I am going to be purchasing a set of lifters today. I can choose between the Comp and Crane ones. Is either any better than the other? Anyone have any opinions of either company? Theyre within $2 of each other, so price isnt really an issue.
I know that the flat tappet lifters are all made by one company. Not to sure about rollers though. Personally I have had nothing but good luck with comp cams stuff. Last time I used crane stuff it went south real fast. The springs they recommend broke very quickly. Still during the break in on the cam, and I wiped to lobes of it before I had full broke it in. One of the lifters on the second lobe was cracked pretty badly too. What do you do? My vote would be for Comp stuff, based on experiance. Good luck with it no matter which way you go.
Thanks for the replies guys, but after doing some research, I found out that both Crane and Comp's LS1 lifters are stock LS1 lifters "reworked" to provide less valvetrain noise and oil bypass...so I actually went with Crane since Comp stuff seems to be out of stock everywhere you look.
