ptv clearance on ls1 flat top
I am building an iron block ls1. I have a set of 2.5 5.3 heads that have been shaved .040ths. they have the 2.02 and i do believe 1.57 exhaust. I have a 224/228 581.588 112+2 and will be rinning a .051 head gaskt. I was wanting to know if I will have sufficient piston to valve clearance??

With the heads being milled that much (about 55cc), I think that you'd have to measure even with that small cam.
Does your engine have stock LS1 bottom end? Any intentions for flycutting your pistons?
Remember that with a high compression engine engine, you will need a big cam to keep your dynamic compression in the safe range so that you can still drive your car on pump gas.
