A tune makes these cars feel like they should from the factory, so any time is great and it's recommended now that you have LT's.

cats removed?ls1 come tuned rich from the factory.a good exhaust would benefit from a good tune,if the cats are removed.consider a cam swap if it ain't your DD.

Unlikely that is a tuning issue, the PCM will get the fuel trims back in the ballpark fairly quickly on its own if the engine is running right.

Ditch the Bosch plugs, go with the Delco spec ones and make sure your plug wires aren't damaged by checking w/ an Ohm meter.

After the engine is behaving, it's a great time for a tune.

get it tuned if you're not going to be making anymore changes in the near future.

Tune it now, It will make a big difference. I would switch to some NGK TR55 plugs

The 2002's do not have EGR. So you are okay with that point.

With just an exhaust swap, I'd consider a frost tune, especially if you plan on doing anything in the near future. Then get a dyno tune with some bigger mods like cam, etc.

When to tune?? I knew a guy who tuned a stock ls1 and got an extra 20hp. I know another who tuned a mild bolt on only car to get the most of it. Tune now, most dyno opperators will cut you a lower price if you go back for a retune due to mod changes. Mine always did.

Frost is a very popular tuner on the boards. I personally have never used him but dozens if not hundreds of people on here have. SloHawk is another.
