Default Question on valve stem seals and valve stem seats

im am gonna be buying some PAC 1218 springs good to .600 lift and was curious what seats and seals to use on my 799 heads.

the ones i took off were the seals that have the seat and seal all in one piece. but since i rebuilt my short block i got a complete motor gasket kit for a 99 ls1 and the 853s use different seals were the spring seat is not included. so should i just use the spring seats off the 853s with the new seals i have or should i buy the other type of seal were the seat and seal is one piece?

or should i just buy new spring seats to use with PAC 1218 springs and use the seals that i got in my gasket kit? and if i do this will it change the spring install height any?

I'd get the one piece design available at the local auto parts store.

The spring install height will only change if there is a difference between the thickness of the new seats vs. the old seats. The seat is built into the valve guide seal on the OEM setup.

Personally, I'd get the OEM seals.

I like the OEM one piece as well. If you use the Comp shims to adjust spring installed height, they fit right over the OEM one piece seal/seat and make if very easy to adjust the seat values.

From the info I've seen in the Service Manual ... the one piece guide seals were started in 2002 model LS1 & LS6.

Concur with crainholio's part numbers below ... I just bought these a few weeks ago.

how much are these 1pc seals typically from a dealership?
I'm right now debating if I should replace mine while I'm in there, or not.... less than 50k mi. on the motor I'm working on swapping in. I got some new felpro seals from a friend that he had leftoer from a gasket kit, then realized mine are 1pc with seat and the fel pros are not... Anyone here have some they wanna trade to use these with dual springs??
