Default When after 99 did the valve covers change?

I ordered polished valve covers from ls1 speed for my 99 SS. The passenger side cover only has one tube for a hose connection in the front, while my valve cover has two tubes for a hose and for the PCV. What did they send me??????

Hmmm... I was under the impression that they were all the same from 99-up. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" />

any car that came from the factory w/ the LS6 PVC valley cover will only have one vacc port on the passenger side. and it is for the T/B. the driver side also gets plugged up if you have the PVC in the valley cover.

I have LS6 covers on my car. No real big problem. Since you don't have but 1 tube on the pass. side of the valve cover now, you will need to remove the black rubber "splitter" in the PCV tube that used to attach the 2nd tube to the pass side of your old cover.

In other words, vacuum will be still pulled by the PCV from the tube that attaches to the rear of the drivers side cover (no change), but there will be no vacuum pulled from the pass side cover any more since you are now missing the rear pass side tube on your new covers.

The front pass side tube is still there. That is where filtered air from in front of the throttle body enters the engine.

BTW, that 2nd vacuum tube is not needed. Although you may now only have 1 tube that pulls vacuum, thats all thats needed. The complete crankcase area will still be evacuated of gasses from the drivers side tube.

In fact, you don't even need to remove the rubber splitter.

Just remove the short hose that went from the splitter to the rear pass. side cover tube on your old valve covers. Then put black silicone sealant into the hole in the splitter so you won't have a vacuum leak at that point.

Everything else reamains the same.
