5.3 heads

I am on a budget and was looking into buying a pair of ported ls6 heads for my trex cam and full bolt ons ls1. A friend of mine told me I would be better off getting a pair of used 5.3 heads for cheap and having them ported. He said the 5.3 head will give me a little more compression which my cam will really like. My question is if I get the 5.3 heads will I have to fly cut my pistons or should it be ok? What are others thoughts for which will give me better results for a budget price?

always verify PTV if its in question. Plus 5.3 heads are either 243s or 799s. I got new 799s off of eBay for 340.00 shipped. They were cosmetic blems from GM.

5.3 heads are also 862...i have a ported and polished set with dual springs if you are interested i have a thread open and willing to sell for 350 shipped
