Default Questions on an LQ4 Build....

I want to be able to make around 500hp to the wheels. I contacted a local shop and the recomended the following...

LQ4 with .030 forged pistons, 6.125 H Rods and Stock rebalanced crank..
L92 Heads with factory valves
Fast LsxR 102/102 setup.

What do you guys think of this....

That would be a 370ci and with new pistons were you going to bump the compression ? You would need a good sized cam. With those heads might want to p&p.

Forged pistons typically have valve reliefs in them, so piston to valve clearance shouldn't really be an issue.

Well to make 500rwhp your gonna need to bump up the compression. With pistons you wont have to mill the heads. Both of those are good company but you may want to look into aftermarket heads as well ! Hoping to start my lq4 build this spring
