Yes, you should be able to use the valves. LS6 valves were sodium filled and lighter, also more expensive. He's just clarifying that these don't have those valves.

ok guys well i mite just be pulling the trigger on a set of these heads. i was probably going to do the PAC 1218 springs with the scorpian rockers but what kind of pushrods should i get?

Where are you guys getting the 243's for $350 shipped? I am about to pull the trigger on some 243's with the hollow stem/sodium valves for 480! Now I know the ones with the Z-06 valves cost a bit more but 350 seems really cheap if there in ready to use condition....

they are missing some things and i dont believe they have the sodium valves

Not tryin to hijack here but seeing as u guys have all seem to bought them is 480 too mich for assembled and already checked out z06 heads assembled?

remember the 01 z06/ls6 heads did not have the sodium and hollow valves. any head marked 243 or 799 (ls2) have the same casting and flow numbers. the only difference is the 02+ 243 heads have the lighter valves. you do not need them unless you plan on really upping your rpm limit.

The LS6 values are longer too, I believe.
