I wanted to do 5.3 stage 2 heads from tsp and a bbk intake and 85mm tb. i have like three cams im looking at a ms4, ms3 or a tourquer cam. this is my first v8 so i am learning quick from this site but absorbing info like a sponge. but i just need some advice also its needs to take nitrous becasue then i get on the bottle i have to do a 100 shot. nothing wrong with a little push button power u know lol. anyways do u guys think im going the right direction or should i try something else.

The bbk intake is not worth the money imo. Either get a fast or ls6 intake. Texas Speed has a good reputation in taking care of customers and building setups. Call them and see what they have to say.

Little to no gains with porting an ls6, waste of time and money.

Ms4 won't clear those heads, and iirc unless ground certain the ms3 won't either.
Look into eps for a cam.. Talk to Patrick g and get a custom grind, little bit more but well well worth it.

Those max effort cams need max effort everything, heads intake gears converter, etc etc..
manual won't be too difficult hitting that number, auto will be a challenge.
you are wanting 450 on the bottle Or on motor?

Why do you have to have 450rwhp? Just a number you picked out? Dyno numbers mean nothing, its a tuning device and nothing more.

Auto or manual?

i want 450 cause i figured it owuld be a safe stock bottom end number and fast enough for my light car to be uber fast but tame enough that i will actually get traction. i want 450 na then 550 bottle on a progressive system. i like the 5.3 heads for the compression bump so i kinda wanted to go with them and i can do an ls6 manifold the fast manifold are sooooo expensive. and its a manual

Buddy has a 240 and has major traction issues with drag radial on an awesome prep track making around 370rwhp through a stalled auto fwiw. He ran high 11s@118 with like a 1.7 short time at lsfest. He has exhaist, 3400 converter, eps 228 cam. Very tame and hauls for its mods.

Go with those heads and the ls6 intake.... I suggest something around 230/234 .600 112
Going to want a nice gear also. That should net you real close to 450.

Although, personally.. id buy a set of used afr 205s that sell for 1500-1800$ with the same cam and intake.

i think i can handle the traction issues im gunna do over fneder out back with like 13 inch rims and some big *** tires i hope thats helps. and the afr are expensive as **** and i dont see them for sale to often but i guess if i was patient. the shop in town here i went to said the stock bottom end couldnt handle 450 is that true. My cars runs 13.2 at 110 mpg on a crappy trakc wit a .65 rt. And i spin 1st, 2nd and some of third so i think i could get a low 12 if it didnt spin so bad

bbk or weiand intakes are as good as a ls6 intake with a bigger TB opening.contact Patrick-G for a cam to meet your goals.get your heads and intake before you order a cam.
