Default Ls6 engine assembly In Orange County??

I have an Ls6 shortblock thats on an engine stand, and i have the f body oil

pan kit and a head and cam package that's ready to go on with cometic

gaskets.. the problem is i was gonna do this myself but im worried because

I dont want to mess anything up... I got a quoute for $2,000 dollars to

assemble the engine and take my existing ls1 out of my camaro and swap

over some of the accesories and bolt my new engine in and dyno tune it...

I realize alot of the price quote is labor, should i just get them to assemble

the engine and i can swap it into my car, then go get it tune?

Or does the 2 grand sound reasonable..??

2k with the dyno tune included isn't too bad.........with that said, if it were me, i would try and do as much of it as i could myself. if you absolutely have no way of removing your stock ls1 from your car and dropping in the new ls6 then you HAVE to take it somewhere....but if you have a way of doing it yourself, you should. Not only will it be a good learning experience.....you will have a much better/proud feeling about your car. when you look at your car, you'll not only be able to think '' i own that bad *** car with an ls6 in it'', you'll be able t think '' Im the one who put it in too''.

plus you know you will do everything correctly and not cut corners. (hopefully)

depends if your capable of doing it yourself or not. also depends on if you have all the tools and space to pull the motor. and also depends if you have the time to do the swap.

you figure out of that $2000 quote $500 is for the dyno tune, $500 probably to assemble everything, and $1000 dollars in labor for pulling the motor and swapping the other one in. $100 an hour for 10 hours of labor is that 1k. so do you feel all that work is worth 1k? if not the answer is to do it yourself if you can.

what heads would you be using? and y even do the motor swap unless your motor has been beat and has a ridiculous amount of miles, or the shortblock you are putting in is forged. if not might as well just put the heads and cam in your current motor and call it good.
