I do notice that all the sheets posted of the big cams are from at least 3000 rpm and up.....

Low end? You mean torque numbers or hp? Seems most make 250 rwhp at 3500 to 3750 rpm...which is close to the stock (bolt-on) numbers, then the cammed car's hp climbs way more than the stocker...

that part that might hurt you is, those dyno pulls were with a shitty pacesetter ory, through the stock slp center mount exhaust catback.

I have pacesetter longtubes, ORY, and a cutout before the rear axle. The power i will let slide due to maybe weather or something. But 32 rwtq with a tighter split cam on my end bothers me

I have the ms3 on a 112lsa. I am running stock 241 heads, and the stock ls6 intake manifold. I made 412rwhp through a 4.10 geared 10 bolt.

I then added a HSW wet plate kit and had it tuned for it. We took away 9* of timing so I can run up to a 200 shot safetly. The car still made 400rwhp on only 21* of timing. With a 100 shot, 517rwhp. 150 shot it laid down 600rwhp and 639rwtq. The car is a animal on the bottle, and runs pretty well on motor as well.

I put in a moser 12 bolt with 4.11's last winter, but havent been back to the dyno sense, cause I havent done anymore power mods. I am not sure what it would put down through the 12 bolt.

now, as far as street manners, I went through a few different tuners until I was STREET happy. Tuning WOT on a dyno is one thing, with the ms cams, but a good street tune is another. My last tuner dialed it in on the dyno with the nitrous, then out on the streets. Needless to say, I get mid 20mpg's on the highway with the 4.11's on a 28" tire, and I can cruise at 1300rpms with NO surging. I get a tiny bit of surging at 1700rpms, but not enough to get annoying. I DD my car as well. I have taken it on 900 mile one way road trips, getting great mileage without a single problem cruising with the ac on.

I have a ls6 ported oil pump, ls2 timing chain, thunder racing 7.425 chromoly pushrods, prc .675 golds, titanium locks and retainers etc. My revv limiter is at 7200rpms, but I shift around 6700rpms on the streets and 6900rpms at the track. Looking to add a fast intake and some heads this winter.

wow! Great info there man, thanks a lot. I'm sure I'll be happy with the setup since it's my first. And It seems like I will need some steep gears. I'm going to run my stock 342's for a little bit. Going to drive it daily for some months since I have to do some major service of my third gen since it has been my daily for a while now. Haven't payed much attention to it. does it really feel really sluggish with the 342's? How would 373's do?

3.73 would be better than 3.42 but i think 3.90 would be the MINUMUM with that big of a cam. 4.10s would be better.

I really don't want 410's. 390's sounds better but if it will lay better power I'll have to hit the 410's.

yah my car is all on a stock bottom end. My motor has 38k on it. 30k on the cam install.

im going to forge it this winter to handle a bigger shot of nitrous and be safe.

to be honest, I liked my 3.42's more then my 4.11's. The 3.42's with the ms3 made the car a beast on the highway. With the 4.11s and nitrous, I am shifting every 3 seconds.

sometime this winter when I rebuild my 12 bolt, Im going to put 3.73's or 3.55's on it.

This is excatly what I was thinking. I don't want to be shifting to soon and loose top end speed. I will do 342's and if I don't like I will change them.

sorry i was on my phone last night and couldnt type for crap on that thing lkidcamaro i totally agree my car spent hours on the dyno but to really get it on point it needs more street tune time than anything, killed alot of the issues i was having, not all but alot, like i said i think if your going to go with a cam only setup and some spray they are great cams, but imo there just way better cams out there for a h/c setup, not saying that the ms cams dont still hold there own , but if i had to change my setup today i would think along the lines of a pat g spec cam, set to go with some trickflow heads, listen im not saying this to anyone in this thread but alot of guys new to ls motors think bigger is better, that is not some much the case, i wanna smack people when i see threads like ( what do i need to run a trex) or ( i want a t rex cam ) guys have no idea what there getting into , now the ms3 imo is one of the best bigger cams, op im not telling you to change your plan but at least call or pm pat g, and just tell him you want a cam that sounds badass, and hauls *** ,and just talk with him and shoot some questions his way, couldnt hurt

Thanks Bob, I'm almost done with the setup and I don't think I'll regret it. It's not my DD and I just wanted more power. Unfortunatly I didn't read much before getting into this. Now I've seen that there is a lot of good cams out there. If I'm not happy with this then with in a year i'll change it up. Thanks.
