LQ4 forged bottom end build
Hello everyone,
I'm looking to tear down my lq4 for forged pistons/rods and reuse the stock crank, I also have a set of l92 heads/ls3 intake that i want to use on the new bottom end. I have been searching a little bit but have just seen what im looking for. Anyhow for my question now.. I was wondering some opinions from you all on what piston/rod setup would be okay for a a ~500rwhp n/a combo that sees 100-150 shot on nitrous on ocassions.
I'm wanting to bump my compression ratio up as well to probably 10.5 or so. I know stock its only 9.4:1.. So what size cc dome should i look for and valve relief?
Thanks,
Craig

Well a flat top 2 valve relief piston would put you around ~10 compression then you could mill a little off the heads... Just google compression calculator and plug in numbers and see what you like...
As for rods and pistons
Compstar h beam or eagle h beam would be good and diamond or weisco pistons would work.... Give Shane @ Thunder Racing a call or Beau @ Scoggin Dickey a call and they will take care of you.. Both super nice guys!
