Default Thermastat

Does anybody know if there is a 210 degree thermastat available for the LS motors?

Not sure why you want it that hot, but the stock unit can be modified to open at lower temps and may be able to be modified to open later as well. Never tried higher myself though.

There's no need for that, you can just set your fan settings higher if you want to run your engine at that temperature.

With the stock 192* I have right now, I can have the car run at 194* all day or as high as 230* if I want to. It's all in the fan settings.

I found my problem. It was taking for ever in a day to reach operating temp. Thought maybe the thermastat was to cool.

I have this motor in my k5 blazer and did not realize the importance of the orifice in the radiator for the surge tank bleed hose. So i made a small orifice (the same size as a factory radiator) and this morning it came right up to 210 and I had heat within a couple miles.

I had my radiator completely blocked off and still couldn't get heat. Now the radiator is unblocked and the hoses routed correctly with the proper orifice and everything is great.

Post a pic of what you did...

Is your surge tank open/unpressurized or closed/pressurized...?
