what is this?
Does it get quieter/go away with driving? (seems unlikely to me..)
I can't get the sound my car makes on a good recording. This is the closest I've came to capturing the noise:

I took my valve covers off and didn't find anything weird, and I've never found anything in the pan, but one of the previous owners could have swept it under the table of sorts.
I would think.. your car wouldn't be running right at all if you were missing bearings from lifters or rockers..?

... that's failed rocker arm bearings in an LS7. Notice how the flimsy sides of the bearing tears open and all the needles fall out ... then show up in the oil pan.
I have piston slap, but I don't think I have rod knock. I've driven 5k miles on this motor with these noises. No metal shavings in the oil.
now it does have some consumption, and it has a leaking RMS, AND the oil smells like gas, coupled with hesitation, which I think is a bad pump or coil or something but that's neither here nor there.
I would think.. if you had something restricting oil flow, that oil pressure would go UP instead of down yes?
my oil pressure is constant at 38-40 when warm. When cold it's closer to 50.

Low oil pressure is an indication of bad bearings that have greatly increased their clearance.
