Default LS6 intake question

So I've been thinking about swapping an LS6 intake in my '00 SS and I just was wondering... Theoretically speaking, should a stock 2000 LS1 with an LS6 intake outperform a stock 01-02 LS1 because of the larger cam in the 98-00 models? Thoughts please! Thanks!!

there really isn't much difference between those two cams... one has slightly higher duration and lift but a higher LSA the other has slightly less duration and lift but with a tighter LSA... my opinion, if you drove both (all other factors were equal) the two cams would feel the same and you would see no noticeable difference between the two cams. to answer your first question if i was a betten man and there was a stock 98-00 T/A with an LS1 intake runnen against a "stock" 01-02 T/A with an LS6 intake (both drivers are of equal ability) i wold put my money on the 01-02 T/A with the LS6 intake... bottom line is the LS6 intake pulls more air than the LS1 intake. just my thoughts hoped that was what you were looking for

There's probably a 50+ page thread on this in the archives lol

If I remember correctly 00 had the bigger cam but 01-02 had the LS6 manifold AND 241s which flow a little better than the 853s due to the casting media used. So the "best" "stock internal" set-up would be a 00 w/ an LS6 manifold and 241s, IMO.

That's the reply I was looking for. Mine has 241 heads from factory (Late 00 model) and and I'll be installing an LS6 intake sometime soon. So I should have the best stock internals, but realistically, will I be any better off than a stock 02 once I have the LS6 intake? Or will it be basically even? I also realize that it will be well within driver's race, it's more of just a curious kind of question.

I've never seen an actual comparison (because it'd probably be impossible to find two bone stock LS1s and put an LS6 on the 00) but i'd say w/o a tune there's probably a >1whp difference.

Coin toss in a real world race.
