Is there a chance one of the cam lobes got scratched in the install? That can kill oil pressure in a hurry. You could also try a simple volt meter test on the pump to see if it is a power issue if you think its the pump. (just try the simple things before stuff starts flying out of the engine bay and onto the workbench...)

If you put a heavy oil in, you will see an overall increase in oil pressure 5-10 psi above what you have right now. Now with this fix the issues you are having?: Im not sure. You can try it and see because thats only $20 to narrow down your problem...

well hopefully that fixes the problem. ive heard that with the slp oil pumps they are higher velocity than stock so they tend to drop a little oil pressure because the hole is bigger. is this true?
