increasing oil pressure i am in the middle of porting and polishing my oil pump for my ls1 build, but am curious as to how thick of a washer should i use

i am trying to get some info oil turning a stock oil pump into a hvhp pump on a low buck rebiuld
has anyone ever installed washers or shimed the spring in a oil pump and how much of a increase in pressure or volume does it make
