Default 5.3L Heads & Pump gas...

Everything alright with 5.3's and pump gas? I know they bump compression up a bit...

unmilled 5.3's will put your at about 10.8 compression, you'll be fine on pump gas.

I have a set of 5.3 heads I had milled 30 and seats cut for 2.02-1.57 valves, I'm in the process of cleaning up the bowls then I'll put them together and slap them on. I have a comp cam(I-212, E-218 114lsa) long tubes, no cats, ported MAF, a 160 thermostat, a diablosport programmer for fans, and TR-55 plugs on stock short block. I worry about detonation. Do you plan on running a cooler temp. and plug? I'm just taking precautions cause I've broke ring landings and rings on hypereutetic pistons with about 20 seconds of detonation. Maybe I worry to much.

If it's only 10.8...I'm not worried. For some reason I thought it was 11.3 (wasn't sure)...which was getting me a little edgy...
