Yup, you should be fine with the 02 factory oil pump, they where made better than the 98-00 also the lifters too! It also depends on how many miles you have in it.

76k miles. I figure I can probably just change it at 100k. I'm sure I'll end up changing it with the cam swap though if it'll help prevent a spun bearing....

Since I'm in no hurry to change heads/cam with winter already here, I'm goign to see if I can find a set of ported 243 heads in the classified or on the bay and then have a machine shop check them before install. I really only want to do this stuff once. If I drop about $1300 on those that leaves me about $700 for the cam swap. Since the heads will probably come with aftermarket springs, I think I'll be within my budget.

Vengeance has a head/cam package that's pretty killer. TFS 220 as cast heads, all the gaskets you'll need, upgraded rockers, pushrods, cam, etc. The last time I looked, it was a little over 2 grand. If you're going to do it, then do it right. Get some proven heads that will perform well and get you to your goal. 450 rwhp and a fat *** torque curve is definately possible with the TFS 220 as cast heads and the right cam.

It's around 3k now.... Looks like they had a sale on it a while ago for $2.5k

With the cost of heads/fast intake/TB, I might be better off with a procharger.

Yeah, but Heads/Cam/Intake and Procharger are two different beasts. Both are beasts though.

Allout, are you running a stock bottom end? What about heads? Does the torquer v3 work good with the blower? I'm thinking about that cam for now and might go with a procharger down the road. I'd rather not have to swap the cam again if I ever end up installing the procharger.
