Default Build? 'S

Build a mild ls1 and was wondering if I needed a few things.my cam is a 525,532 lift and I was wondering if I need to replace my valve springs and push rods. Isaac also wondering if an oil pump is needed and if so which one, ported ls6 or selling of some kind. Any help is appreciated.

For that little lift, you can go with some LS6 yellow springs. As far as pushrods go, you should always upgrade them even if not going big...they tend to bend easily at high RPMs.

If the car has more than 75k miles, I would do the oil pump just because you're already there and as a precaution. Go with the LS6 for a mild build.

204/218 int/exh @ 0.05" duration
0.551" / 0.547" int/exh lift
117 LSA
The LS6 cam has much more lift than that and GM pairs it from the factory with LS6 yellow springs. So why wouldn't a lower lift cam work?

What do I think? He's trying to sell you a set of new springs that's why he's gonna tell you that other springs that you are considering won't work.

I would say He does'nt know what He is talking about as the 2001 Z06 vette LS6 cam has .525 lift both exhaust and intake and uses those exact springs . You can buy them at Fred Beans Parts for $59 ,,,,,there are a few places around that has them for $60 The p-rods check Alex's Parts as He has really good deals on p-rods . I think every day He sells .080 wall LS p-rods for $80 in any length You need .
