Firehawk Blown engine....new 383 or stock LS1?

Default Firehawk Blown engine....new 383 or stock LS1?

My engine blew up at 35k miles, still unsure for certain why it blew one mechanic said it was the tune another said the piston blew and another said cam bearings. Regardless I have a new 383 with everything needed to be put in from texas speed. My question is if i ever want to sell my Firehawk would it be better to just sell the new 383 and buy a rebuilt engine or a new stock LS1, or put in the 383 as i had planned? Also would stock rocker arms be enough for the 383? I have a tsunami cam and also stage 2.5 cylinder heads.With all ARP bolt sets for everything.

If you ever sell it and dont want to sell the 383 just drop in a 5.3, might have to buy the LS1 intake and injectors there cheaper than a LS6 and if your going to sell it you dont have to put too much money into it that way...

put 383 in + save # matching block if it can be rebuilt that way car still has all orig. parts

Will stock rocker arms be able to hold up? Iv read that gm rocker arms are pretty strong

so put in the 383 keep the stock engine incase i sell it and have it rebuilt, and buy the upgrade kit. Would the value of my car drop because of the 383 i mean its a $10k engine with all arp bolts and everything top of the line. The car only has 35k miles.

if you do the 383 ,you will probably go too fast at the drag strip and get kicked out for no roll bar.do the 383 .

A car is a car. Do what you have to do for it to be the way you want it and DRIVE IT. Unless you are a collector, don't worry about the value. I've go one of the 6 98 Firehawks and drive that thing every day. It's got 4 wheels and was built to be driven. Put the 383 in it and goooooooo. You won't be sorry.
If you decide that you wanna sell that car, fix the old engine before you do.

just curious why you aren't utilizing a 383 rotating assembly for your blown up engine? the assembly and complete rebuild by a sponsor would surely be less than $10k.

Im not very car savy and i wanted a complete long block i figured a built 383 would be bullet proof if nothing else. I also am going to try and tune this one a little safer. Also im not a big track guy this will be more of a street car with street tires so any tips on the tune would bd awesome
