nice work , much props to you sir, im glad to see you took a man up look at things and did it yourself, just think of the thousands your saving vs paying a shop.who is doing the tune?good work though man , i hope some of the new guys read this so they can see it can be done in a garage vs paying labor cost .
nice writeup. it's funny you mention the genius achievement. i had one of those when helping a friend do the same upgrades to his car. we had ptv issues, but it was because the pushrods were too long. it took about 10 minutes of WTF and checking, then i picked up the box and said who the **** uses 7.7 pushrods? wtf? yeah...it worked great with a shorter set. he had a larger cam and tfs 215 heads and .040 cometic gasket. calculations said it would be close, and after everything was installed correctly, it was.

Steve Frost is doing the tune for me. He sent me the mail order tune so I can drive it down to him for the complete dyno.

Ok guys, I have GREAT news and some not so good news. First of all yes I took a lot of pictures but I haven't had time to post them yet but I will.

Good News: I got EVERYTHING put back together and I cranked her up.... The cam sounds amazing!
The idle is beautiful and with the new PCM from Frost Tuning in the car - it's pretty smooth . Oil pressure looked great (around 50psi) and valvetrain is quiet for the most part - there is a sight tick but it's unnoticeable unless you literally stick your ear next to the valve covers. I am ecstatic that I was able to finish everything up - only took me 4 days. I took my time each day from 7am to "until I couldn't turn a wrench" lol which was from 12am to 3am . Yep I lost a little sleep but hey those hours were well spent . Overall, I think the install went very well. It was clean, I was neat and organized, and I think everything looks great. Thanks to everyone who watched this process! I'll be sure to get the video I took posted up and also all the pics of the rest of the process

and now.....
Bad News: I got the new PCM in and was going to begin doing a PCM relearn process and the first step is to "turn the ignition as if you are going to start then leave in the on position until the security light disappears". Well, I turned the key as if to start the car and... the car fired up and started. Caught me by surprise but that's ok.
Once the car started - it flashed "Charge System Fault" and I'm throwing these two codes:
P1637 - Generator L-Terminal Circuit
P1638 - Generator F-Terminal Circuit
I'm at work all day today so I won't have time to check but this upcoming week I'll go through the usual checks.
Chassis grounds
Clean and tight connections to the Alt, Battery, Starter, and PCM
I'm curious to what caused this. In the meantime, any advice is appreciated ...as you all know (those who saw my last big thread) I hate electrical problems .
Hopefully, it's something simple - I really want to get this car on the road and go for a test drive!

Alright guys here are the last of the pics like I promised! The "start-up/drive video" I will post this weekend. I'm still trying to work out that electrical issue that I talked about earlier but I should have it all wrapped up this weekend (I hope).
First, here's a shot of the Comp Cams Trunion mod

Here's my little 40 dollar press from Harbor Freight (worked perfectly)

Knocked out each trunion (man, those needles get everywhere! lol)

Got them all pressed like so

Here is a complete box of all of them

Here's a shot of the snap ring going on

I would say it took me about 30 mins to finish up all the Trunions, it's definitely a worthwhile mod :thumbs:
Alright, now to the next step:
Drilled some small 5/16 holes into my lifter trays.

Got the lifters and trays in and bolted up. And I laid my new head gasket right on top of the dowels to get ready to install my new Heads :yesnod:.

Got the new heads on

Installed all the pushrods, rocker arms, and pedestal. Then I bolted everything down.

Got my new Ported Intake Manifold on

Here's a close up of my new injectors

Got the valve covers on and bolted up the new longtubes

Here's a shot from under. Looks beautiful in person :thumbs:

Got all the other PITA parts back on the car and just waiting for the finishing touches!

Finally got everything put back together. New Ported Throttle Body and Blackwing on the car!

Finally finished with the motor! Next up will be the suspension. Not too sure when I'll get to that but hey - the biggest part is finished!
I'll post a video of the start this weekend and hopefully my camera will do it some justice!

Well as I noted earlier, I'm running into those two DTC's:
Charge System Fault
P1637 - Generator L-Terminal Circuit
P1638 - Generator F-Terminal Circuit
I checked, cleaned, and tightened the connections to the Battery, Alternator, PCM, and the ground G104 near the battery. I started the car and measured the BATT terminal (red wire on back of the Alternator) to Ground and it's putting out a really low voltage IIRC around 1.47. I also measured the Positive Battery terminal to the BATT terminal on the Alternator and I'm getting around -10.4 so I see my voltage loss.
I have not yet checked or cleaned the starter connections or ground G106 - didn't have time today as I believe it will be a PITA since it is caged behind the passenger side longtubes lol. BUT I plan to attack it tomorrow and start her up again and see what I get. Hopefully that will solve my issue, we'll have to wait and see.
This is the schematic that I am working with. It's pretty straight forward so hopefully I can have the issue resolved by this weekend (knock on wood).

Thanks man! I'm starting to get more involved over here on LS1Tech. I'm pretty active on CorvetteForum but there's a chance I might pick up an F-Body sometime in the future so I wanted to start posting over here now too

I checked and cleaned both Grounds (G104 and G106) and I checked, cleaned, and re-tightened the connections on the starter. That seemed to do the trick! Both codes went away! I'm going to give the car a nice wash tomorrow and take her for a short conservative drive. Then I'll let her sleep over night and I'll be taking her on a more thorough cruise Friday and Saturday. I'll also try to get a good quality start up video so you guys can listen in .

Finally got the video up guys! Watch it in 720p HD. I took it for a 2 hour drive today and it drives good. Still breaking it in so there are times it's not so smooth. But once I get my tune straightened out I'm sure it'll be a blast!
