Default Head Gasket

Has anyone used the Trick Flow Cometic MLS .045 x 4.060 gasket (#TFS-30694060-045)?? Did you do any special prep work because this is stated in the notes on Summit, "A surface finish of 50 RA or finer is recommended for installation". What is 50 RA??

Ra is basically the measurement of how smooth the machined surface is. With an MLS gasket, you dont want a rough surface, since the steel layers can only conform and seal in a certain range.

When I had my 799s milled, I told the machine shop I was going to be running an MLS gasket, and they made sure the finished surface was right.

So...basically, you don't want to feel any variance or ripples in the mating surfaces??
