Default cam degree question

im building a boost engine for my camaro. i have a custom hydrolic roller ground cam. what i need to know is, when degreeing the cam what lifter do i use? if i use hydralic roller lifter does it need to be pumped up with oil in it or use a sloid lifter to degree? thx, shawn

btw, heads arent installed.....

If the head are off (as you say) it really doesn't matter, as there'll be no spring pressure to collapse the lifter's innards. You can also omit the lifter trays for degreeing purposes, don't forget to put them in for final assembly though!
