Default Am I Going to break springs?

I'm about to put a cam in (219/233 .553/.536 LSA 109). I was wondering if I will maybe break springs if I run it on the stock ls1 ones for about a week. I new springs coming, but I am very impatient. Yay or ney?

There are a lot of things wrong with your plan.

First being it's not wise to run on the stock springs, but worse that means you would also be driving it untuned which is also a bad idea.

Not to mention if you are too impatient to wait for springs you will be too impatient to not beat on the car...in which case yes you likely will break things.

Running springs that are at least 10 years old, unknown mileage on them, with a lobe as big as an LS6.

I wouldn't do it, but I don't care about your car so I say go for it.

Driving lightly on a cammed car with stock tune is not going to kill anything. That's why you have o2 sensors so that the car will learn the new airflow part thorttle. Going WOT on that tune will.

But driving on stock springs = nono, wait to do the cam when you have the springs.

Like I said in the rest of my post...if he is too impatient to wait for required parts, there should be no illusions about that car staying at part throttle.

It makes more since to probably just wait the whole week before you start or run the motor so you don't have any bad results.

To the OP: don't cut corners or you will regret it. If you decide to try it, post pics of the carnage.
