Default LQ4 6.0 build cam?

I'm starting to collect parts for my lq4 build I was going to do a turbo setup but now I have a baby on the way so i'm gonna try and save some $ at the moment and just go n/a with maybe some nitrous sometime down the road.

Anyway here's my ? browsing the internet I came across a Thunder racing cam used
specs TR 230/236 .592/.602 112+4 I was wondering if its worth picking up or should save some more to buy a new cam matched to what my goals are.

Which is 3,200lb street car 4l60e w/ 3600 stall for the moment going to go with a th400 or 4l80e eventually 3.73 gear stock bottom end 2005 lq4 243 heads milled a small amount most likely, also car has a stock ls1 intake will be looking for a ls6 intake to use, would like to go mid to low 11's on motor.

That seems like a fairly good choice for your current combo. I am not sure if it is optimum for a turbo or nitrous though. I guess it depends on the condition and price of the used cam if it is worth it or not?? If you aren't going to do the turbo or nitrous, the earlier your Intake Valve Close is the more compression you can build to help offset the compression loss from the dished pistons.

That's a pretty good camshaft for that application. I'm not a big fan of 112LSA cams in automatic cars, but otherwise it would be a decent fit.

Thank you for the info. The cam has about 4k miles and is $240 so its not to bad of a price, I do have a ls6 cam and 317 heads for when I can afford to do a tubro setup down the road.
damian what kind of issues should I expect with a 112lsa cam in an auto car? Should I look for a little bit higher lsa or lower lsa also?

That same style cam on a 113-114 LSA would be perfect.
