ls1 c3 corvette air cleaner setup?

ls1 c3 corvette air cleaner setup? The current setup is just an elbow with some cheap air cleaner that the shop said was new/custom...BS. Anyways, when I get on the throttle the entire air cleaner is sucking itself inward a lot! I want to add either a bigger air cleaner or a dual setup. Curious if others have done this on a C3 corvette. Mine is an 80'.
Would it be possible to route them in front of the radiator?
Edit: Just realized I posted this in the internal engine section... can someone move it to the external engine? Thanks
