Cam bearings have been bent or crushed from installing with a hammer or you have the wrong cam..

You don't have to know anything about automotive to be the shop teacher..you just have to have a teaching degree. I have my ASE master Tech and a Degree in Mechanical engineering, but I was told I couldn't be the shop teacher at Cy-Fair, unless I got a teaching degree..

Ive seen this happen a rare few times. If the engine is on a stand after a while the block twists because its only supported on one end. Put the block on the floor and let it sit there for a bit and then try again.

"Most of the time" ASE = Ask Someone Else. That was the running joke for a long time. Anyone with a working mind can buy a study book and pass a test.

What school is this? U should sue. Poor ls1, save it!

Probably bent the edges of the bearings when he put them in and the cam won't fit. :/ use a grinder and grind the bearing down a bit and wala! If he asks why, just say it's faster then using sand paper by hand.

This is my high school program... He's been doing this for over 45 years lol. I think he's starting to lose it... The said thing is this class is worth 12 college credits also haha. Oh well I only have to be here another 3 weeks idk how I'm going to get the cam in Monday. I might just take the bearings out and put the cam in and say "ok its in there haha" Il get my grade and be long gone before it gets torn down again haha maybe Il leave the bearings in the oil pan for the next students and right good luck on 1 of them haha.

Lol. While I'm talking about my retarded instructor... I might as well tell you about the retarded students haha. This 1 kid took the bumper off to change the spark plugs haha. The same kid today had his tool box rolled over by the 4 post alignment lift. He had the top of his toolbox hanging over the lift. The box has a top on it longer then the box. Some kid starts raising the lift and then you hear a funny cracking noise and there goes the top of his box Lmao the lift took the top basicly off the box hahaha. This other kid thought a turbo was spooled by the air coming into the intake not the exhaust gases lol. The same kid couldent figure out where the crankshaft was... I'm going to walk away feeling good that I made it out alive haha.

Nobody said getting the ASE was hard. Unfortunately, you have to take their stupid tests to get paid anything in the automotive world.
