What I've found is that if you have a 2003 and earlier block and plan to re-use the shorter M8 bolts is to apply medium strength blue loctite.

When using the ARP bolts, the LS1howto site says to tighten all 15mm bolts to 30ftlbs in sequence. Then a second pass to 50, then a third pass to 70. Does that just mean 1-10? It then says to do the small ones to 22ftlbs.

Does that mean that you do 1-10 completely all three passes and then do 11-15 on the outside edge separately?

quick question, lets say you use the factroy style bolts, torque them down the simply switch to ARP bolts( before you install the motor). Are the headgaskets still good after being smashed with the torque to yeild bolts ?

Yes the gasket is still good as long as it was just bolted down then unbolted and it didn't get torn up while taking heads off. Im sure others will argue. I personally would run it if all you did was bolt it down then unbolt it
