When are arp main studs needed?

Default When are arp main studs needed?

I am forging an lq4 iron block. Debating on using new gm main bolts.

At what power level do you recommend arp main studs. Have you personally seen a failure of the gm main bolts and what happens to them at high power levels.

Never a bad idea if its already getting machined because it needs align honed after they get installed, however I wouldn't say you need them till around 600 700 at the crank na. Now with boost or spray, I wouldn't hesitate after 500.

Pretty much any time you are going with higher RPM or more power it doesn't hurt to get rid of the TTY bolts and go ARP.
