5.3 w/ built ls1 internals
5.3 w/ built ls1 internals hey guys i have a built ls1 that was setup for boost, and im looking to convert it all to an iron block for reliabilities sake and the fact that the starter mount broke off the aluminum block. i can get the 5.3 for about $100 and plan to bore it out to swap the ls1 stuff over. can i use all the roatating assebmly from my current ls1? ls1 is on stock bore. all the info would be greatly appreciated. and lastly what stroke would this make my motor? i was reading both cranks are identical in size
Stroke on the 5.3 and 5.7 is 3.622. The bore size is all that is different. Assuming you bore it to factory 5.7 size of 3.898 and use the stock crank with a stroke of 3.622 then you will just have an iron 5.7
