Default If Money Was No Object

Hey I've been thinking about buying another f-body and building it to 9 seconds.
550 - 600 Hp on motor plus a progressive 200 shot to boot.
So I could use some help here.
I'm first going to put the car on paper then build it.

First what car? I have an 35th SS vert that I think I'm going to sell cause they don't like em at the track plus I don't want to mod it.
I like the SS better than my 01 WS6 but have modded the trans am and I'm around 500hp on spray (see sig)

It doesn't matter what year as long as an LS1 engine came in it.

So what stroker motor would I need 383, 406, 427 I'm not quite sure
Aluminum or iron
Exhaust, longtubes which ones, Y pipe or X, true duals, do they make duals that exhaust out the back?
Transmission 6M or Auto, and what kind for that power.
Rear end 12 bolt or 9in and what gears
What kind of tires and rims, would I need to hollow out?
Cage and harness what kind
Progressive spray that reads 02's and adjust on the roll

So much to figure out before starting

I want a solid plan to start with, I know I'll need to adjust along the way but I have a vision to have the fastest street/ track car in florida and maybe the east coast.

So if you had a car and 20k to start with what would you build?

hey first off where in florida do you race? second if you wanna run 9's get the 427 stroker motor with like a 595/604 inch lift cam. make sure the heads you get are hand ported not done my a cnc machine. third the 12 bolt bolts right into the ls1 where as the nine inch doesnt. i have FINISH LINE PERFORMANCE headers which are alot better then the crappy skid plate SLP headers. plus finish line headers work better with the spray. and they give you high flow cats with the headers and strait pipes to put in place of the cats if you dont want cats. i have an off road y pipe with borla cat back exhaust and borla in my opion sounds better than any exhaust i have heard. now A4 trans is a hell of alot better for a nine second car. FLP(finish line performance) makes a stage 5 transmission which is the best i have come across and you will need that if you want to run 9's. now for wheels if you dont want to spend to much get weld prostar 15x10 with a 7.5 inch backspace. you will have to get your calipers ground down a little for it to fit. then for tires get mickey thompson et drags size 28x10.5-15. run a 200 to 250 shot of nos and 9's wont be a dream any more. and oh yea get an 8 point roll cage.
i have a 1999 z28 camaro and i currently am running 12.19 @ 113mph on motor and 11.60 @ 115mph on spray. there is a long wait for my car to get worked on at my speed shop cause they have alot of cars in front of me. i am bringing it in in april even though i already bought everything. i got the 427 stroker motor with lunati pro billet everything. 12bolt and stage 5 trans and 300 shot of nos. amongst other things and oh yea i am coming to orlando florida in april when my car is done. im racing at speed world so get your stuff done and well find out whos got the fastest car in florida. have fun building i know i did and good luck

Hey thanks for your feedback
Where is this finish line performance place?
Also how much did you spend on your 427 and A4?

Default Engine

why not use a C5-R case stuffed with a 3.625 callies crank, Oliver 6.250 inch rods and 4.125 in bore Diamond pistons. That puts you at 387 cid. If you add a nice set of C5-R heads with flow numbers in the 390 area, and a small solid roller cam like ( 250/260 @.050 .675int/.690ext 110/106) with 11.5:1 compression that should put you well over 600 rwhp n/a then spray upwards of 400 hp worth of nitrous and it would be a killer set up. That engine in a 3200 pound car with a rossler TH350 w/ a Neal Chance 8in 4000 stall converter and a trans brake, with a 12 bolt w/ 3.73 or 4.10 depending on the size of tire you want to run, should put you well into the 8's

If you have any questions about setting up your car pm me I will help you out
