Default Shortblock & Rust.?

Has anybody had rust inside their shortblock.? I came to take a look at my shortblock and I found rust all over it. Is their anyway I can clean this is up or if i can get this cleaned up by a machine shop.? or is my block done.?

It should come out with a hone. Try using some brake cleaner and a shop TOWEL first. If you get it cleaned and it has pitting in the cylinder walls, then I'd become a little leery.

Man hope it comes out with the brake cleaner. Next time rub the cylinders down with clean motor oil.

oil is not as good as wd40. wd40 displaces water. Oil keeps the moisture in.

Mine are alot worse and it seems to be coming off with a brillo/SOS pad and WD-40. Don't get too worried yet!
