Throttle Body question on LM7
Very new to all this so please excuse my ignorance. I hope I am posting this in the right place.
I have an engine that I am transplanting into an off road vehicle. I know very little about the engine. I believe, but not sure, that it came from a 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500. It is a 5.3L
If I am right then this would be a LM7 Gen III is that correct? I also know that it is VIN T which I believe means iron block, aluminum heads (which it has) non flex fuel.
Block number is 12567392. Does all that add up? I don't have a VIN or anything that I can verify.
The one thing that doesn't add up for me is that it has a cable throttle body instead of a drive by. Does anyone know if these engines came with cable TB in 2006? I guess someone could have switched it out, but just curious. Attached is a picture of it.
Also, if anyone can tell me if there is a way to verify for sure what engine it is, and especially the year that would be great.
Thanks for your help.
