Default 01 ta cam and spring swap

Hey I had a question. I have my own auto repair shop and have a bit of Lsx experience. Building 96 sn95 turbo 408. So with that I had a customer call and get an estimate on putting cam springs pushrods in his ta. My all data shows 18hrs just for cam. Thats about 1000 bucks labor. What is the going rate for this job. He is supplying all parts. I have done them out of car during swap outs but never in car. Thanks ahead of time

should not take anywhere close to 18 hours.
Id say no more than 4 or 5
I always use the in car method and it has never taken long at all
Do some research on in car methods, its really very easy

Anyone who says they can do a proper cam swap in 4 hours lying. Whether you swap the oil pump (requiring you to drop and reseal the oil pan) and what valve spring compressor you have are going to be two big factors on length of time for install. Doing the oil pump and using a single spring compressor like the Tim's will take me the better part of two afternoons.

I did mine in about 10 hours. Thats with oil pump, timing chain, And I used the crane valve spring compressor tool. If I was working my *** off I could probly do it in 7 hours. I had my old cam out in a hour and a half and just double checked my work, the springs took forever it felt like.
