Default Probably a dumb cam question but

I would like to cam the engine but retain the stock heads. Any suggestions? It is a street car. I go to the track sometimes but mainly it's street driven. If I change the cam would I need to do anything to the heads? I heard the LS1 heads had decent flow.

I know stupid questions but ones I don't know the answer to.

Only mods are SLP lid, free airbox mod, ported/polished tb, It's an '02 T/A so it already has the LS6 intake and numbers confirm the LS6 block too.

Browse through the many recent threads about EPS cams and you should find your answer on a good street cam EPS 226/230 is a good one.

Heads, you are fine with the stock ones as long as you aren't throwing on a monster cam. I wouldn't go any bigger then a 230/234 or 234/240 myself. Other then the cam, change out the valve springs, upgrade the timing chain to a LS2, new pushrods, seals & retainers and if you wanna get into it a little more change out the lifters to some LS7 along with new lifter trays. Comp cam also makes a kit for the stock rockers you might want to look into as well.

I'll look at some of the other threads. i want my motor to look as stock as possible.

Some of the most common cams that LS1s get with stock heads are the Texas Speed 224R, 228R, and the Thunder Racing 224.

Stock drivability with an outstanding power curve.

Well gonna get the exhaust too as it all ties in together but I'm trying to plan out what I want it to do, what I need to get, and who I'm going to rob to fund it. So cam, to me, is more important right now. I'm trying to decide on an exhaust system right now.
