Okay , I know the difference between a "wet" and "dry" flow bench is fluid. But how do they actually differ in form and function? Could some of the Head Gurus (no pun intended) help me out on this? And does anyone know why carburator cfms were determined at 25 " H2O and heads were flowed at 28" H2O??? Just curious. I only know of Mondello as having a wet bench ready for sale. They have provisons for the fuel/liquid and the vaccum motors to handle it. Wet flow is very important in carb intake manifolds and in the cylinder heads, especially on 23 deg headed motors since fuel is more likely to puddle in the ports.

Carbs/TB's are flowed at 20.3" and heads are done @ 28", most likely due to the strength of the benches. It takes one strong bench to flow 900cfm @ 20.3" let alone 28"!
