oil pump question

i bought a "new" oil pump from someone, and the center rotating assembly is very loose. it wobbles all around the inside of the oil pump. is this normal?

it's a lingenfelter ported ls6 pump.

Normal, The crank holds the gear in the proper place upon installation.
