Default A head question (cfm) not asked everyday

What kinda of gain (mph- not necessarily hp) can be expected from going tfrom stock 99 ls1 heads to a stg 2 head (2.05/1.60's) that look like this:

INTAKE EXHAUST LIFT (without stack- whatever that means)

141 107 200
201 143 300
229 159 350
249 174 400
267 187 450
282 199 500
290 207 550
299 213 600

if stock ls1 heads flow roughly 250 cfm..... it looks like i gained roughly 40cfm
(my cam's lift is 551/575) so what does that equate to in terms of power?

What were the flow numbers with the an LS6 intake in place? The numbers will be less with the intake in place. Some heads loose a little with the intake in place and some loose a ton of cfm with it in place.

Stock LS1 heads will usually flow ~210 to 220 cfm with the LS6 intake in place. Many ported LS1 heads will only flow ~245 to 250 cfm with the LS6 intake in place. The the gain in cfm could be 25 to 40 cfm. A quality head like TEA, Absolute, MTI & some of the others will flow more than that thru the LS6 intake. In fact 280+ is possible thru the LS6 intake. This should be worth more power and maybe 3-4 mph.

I would guess 2 to 3 mph or about ~25 to 35 rwhp.

I dont know how A.R.E flows there heads.... but these are A.R.E stg 2's (they were there "old" stg 2's with 2.08's in them, but I sentthem back to be reworked a lil) as far as being flowed with a ls6 intake hell all i know are the numbers they sent me..... nick also said that since these numbers(the exhaust) were "with the stack off" to add about 30 cfm to that "to compare to other numbers"

Those numbers are most likely without LS6 intake in place. Nick can probably tell you what the numbers would be with the LS6 intake in place. Some other folks have got new ARE heads. I think they were in the ~425rwhp range which is pretty decent. I think you'll get 3mph maybe a little more.

The heads were flowed with a radius on the intake port and the exhaust was flowed as is( no stack). With the LS6 intake on we have seen from 245-260 cfm on our stage 2's.
