Actually, what is funny is that they idle better than most of the H/C cars I see here in the states. I talked with a tuner in Australia yesterday. 242/242 on a 106 idling at 800 rpm. They also are working on a 263/263 that in a 3800lbs Holden that idles below 900 and went a 11.0 @ 128 on pump gas. I'll have more results later this week, but they are definitely making some power, and the cars are very drivable. As I have driven them while I was down there....

That would be Chris's car. It made 638 fwhp at 6,800 rpm. Just a garden variety Lunati 383 stroker with Higgin's LS6 heads and Sam's tuned 8tb's.

Indeed, it does drive nicer than an un-tuned stock engine with a 216-220 on 114lsa…. Yep!

Aussie’s frown upon $50 mail order tunes…. It’s easy with a stocker but you’ll have to be on location with the larger cams.

Find a tuner over there, who knows Mr. Eddy Current, and you’ll go a long way to making this stuff more livable.

Just got done with SBC cam for a good customer, car will be one of these street race NMCA or something, 417CID with a set of All Pros. To relate to calculating duration split. Customer supplied the numbers on this head but due to the fact he is getting a cam from Al Parker also, I wanted him to flow the induction system in tact for real numbers. This cam had to my best work. ..Parker is an Ace on NA stuff. Cam would have been a 2 degree split, but due to the Intake package and the exhaust package flow numbers cam is now a 6 degree split. Power would have suffered.
Relating to the LS1's, since the intake is so restrictive, it is a good idea for those of you wanting to put something on KILL, to have the shop bolt everything on the heads and flow them that way.

J-rod, find a Dave Jax (Jacks) over in Aussy land, I have just seen some of his work on cylinder heads, NICE work.
