cam selection
I am thinking about picking up a new in box cam from a buddy. He is asking 300 for it and it has the comp 918's with titanium retainers and locks. it is a comp XR275HR-12. It will be going into my 2004 automatic gto (ls1) Currently I have some coilovers on the way and the car has the ls6 intake and has a cold air k & N kit with a tune for the trans. It has some custom exhaust but stock headers and mid pipes. I know this cam isnt too agressive or over the top, but will it give me noticable gains. I am planning on some long tubes and a tune before driving the car once cam is installed. This is my Daily Driver. Thanks for any help.

In my opinion that cam is pretty small, if you are planning to stay N/A I would get something larger. I had a TSP 228r and that was a great cam, but now I have a TSP Tsunami going into my new build but I think at least get something like a 228r if you want to get a good amount of power. As for the daily driver cam, I think it would work with whatever you want to put up with you can drive a larger cam as a daily driver if you have a good tune.

Regardless, you'll also need a higher stall TC (3000-3600).
It'll be a good DD cam, but there's better lobes available that will make more power for the same size cam. Furthermore you can still be DD friendly with a cam like the TSP 228r with a 114lsa .
IMO, I'd do a high stall TC first (3000-3600) if you can't afford to do it all at the same time.
