Yup. Summit. Same for main studs if you're needing those as well.

If you don't plan on running FI, than the ARP head bolts will be good enough. They are doing the job for me.

For that matter, the stock bolts are fine under most circumstances. I prefer head studs in most any case, but even the stock bolts do a great job.

"I've always heard you can't swap the heads while in the car if you have
studs. Is there any truth in this? A friend said you can do a head
swap with studs whith the motor still in the car. Is thsi true?"

You can, it is just a bit more of a pain. I've done it several times on different cars with head studs.

Ive seen headswaps done on 4th gen fbodies WITH the studs in place.. i would imagine its a little tighter though..

Summit has a HUGE deal going with ARP so thats why if anyone has stock, its them..

I have ARP head studs in stock. PM me if you would like a price. Head bolts are good, but if you plan to make lots of hp studs are better. Your heads will have less of a chance to flex if you use studs. Most high boost aplications, or lots of NOS require head studs. We also stock Cometic head gaskets...

Yeah if you use head studs, I would say the best way to get the studs out would be to double nut them. Just put 2 nuts on the same stud and wrench on the bottom on to get the studs out. Also, I would use blue loctite on the side of the stud in the block.

do the studs not come out of the block very easily once you've torqued them down once? seems like they would come out easy since they're only hand tight to begin with.

The studs should come right out of the block. Just like you said, they are supposed to be hand tight.

Never Torque Studs into the block NEVERRRRRRRRRRRRR...do a search for a recent thread that shows some good pics why not to.

I just re-installed my ARP studs yesterday. They say hand tight but I snug them with a socket wrench..just because I can't live with hand tight. Remember...shorter studs go on the outside corners too...there are 4 of them.

I wish people would learn that one.
