I am in west palm beach and I just picked my block back up from a shop who was about to bore me 20 over. They also didn't have a torque plate. I called 3 shops in the area before I found one who even had an ls1 torque plate. I have a set of Mahle 3.905 on order now so I'll wait until I get those before I drop it off. I was surprised by the lack of knowledge and that their computer with all the dimensions ans tolerances didn't tell them not to bore the ls1 20 over.

IMO what most local shops put out is a step backwards from stock. Most are stuck in the 70s.

A .100" over bore is possible on a 5.3 block. Maybe they got confused with the aluminum block somehow?? Lol
