questions about oil pumps

questions about oil pumps i have an 2001 SS. i was wondering if i needed an ls6 pump, or would it be worth it to replace that with a ported pump? if a ported pump, where can i get the best deal? also, i just redid my cam about 200 miles ago, do you think that i will need a new front seal, and timing cover gasket?? thanks again

btw, i have about 21k miles on the car, and about 400rwhp on stock heads, and i plan on heads soon, to give you more info on the car

Being a 01, you have the LS6 pump. Ported pumps just allow better flow. You can shim the relief spring for better pressure. Its mostly up to you to do one. TR has a good deal and nice pumps.
You will need a new front seal, but not a new timing cover gaskets (its reusable).

thanks for the reply, do you know if there is a market for used LS6 pumps? if so what is the going rate for them
