Re: Used cams..... Don't buy a used cam. It is a major bad thing. The cam specs will be off of what the card says because the cam has been used, and this causes wear on the lobes. The wear has a specific pattern, so unless you got the lifters with the cam, and in to order of where they line up with what lobes I would stay away. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> Sorry to ruin any thoughts of used part glory

Re: Used cams..... I have installed two used cams in my engine so far without a problem. Just make sure the cam lobes and Journal's are nice and smooth. Check the part number stamped on the cam to be sure you are getting what you think you are.
Re: Used cams..... As has been said, roller cams don't "wear" like flat tappet cams. They a billet steel and the roller causes almost no friction.
Just you caution when buying.....if the cam has 100,000 miles on it....ehhh....might be a good idea to look around for something else....otherwise its all good... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
