eagle rod bolt question

I just bought a set of forged eagle rods for my ls1. they came equipped with arp8740 rod bolts. is machine work necessary if i were to upgrade to katech rod bolts? thank you

You don't need to upgrade as the 7/16 bolts even in 8740 are already massive overkill for the most part. If you do yes you need to check them and may need to hone them possibly.
