Anyone using an "Oversized" Rod Bearing?
I put ARP rod bolts in my stock rods, 2 of them moved enough the machine shop said they needed to be opened up and oversized rod bearings used. I got all the stuff back from the shop and started assembly yesterday.
When I installed the first rod and piston, when I torqued it down, the engine wouldn't spin over. So, I took it back out. I remember the shop telling me I'd need .001" oversized bearings. Well the ones they sent with me are .002" oversized.
Sealed Power Part # 8-255A 10X2
I can't find a part # for a .001" oversized except for a C8-7100CH 1X on O'Reilly's website.
Can anyone point me in the right direction. I'm sure the bearings I have are my problem.
TIA
I'm sure now that I've torqued that one, the bearing will be no good. I'll take it all back to the shop tomorrow and let them check it out. Maybe they'll just need to hone the rods another .001".
Thanks
